Karen Hudes is a writer, editor and creator of the game Menu Mash-Up, published by Chronicle Books. The game is a winner of the 2014 Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award for Toys, and was called “silly, sumptuous and absolutely Major Fun” by majorfun.com.
Previously she worked as a senior editor at Zagat from 2006 to 2011, producing bestselling restaurant guides for Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Orleans, among other cities. She currently freelances as a Zagat blog editor and contributor to the NYC guide, and her work has also appeared in publications including The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Tin House, NYMag.com and BonAppetit.com. In 2010 she curated an exhibit about Williamsburg’s handmade shop signs for The City Reliquary in Brooklyn, which was later picked up by the gallery Partners & Spade.
